Happy Holidays

Just a quick post...
I hope you all had yourselves a wonderful Christmas.
Christmas :  the day when diets don't exist and you have the excuse to be lazy and tell extremely bad jokes.
I remember talking to my friend on Christmas Eve both agreeing we miss the good old days when we believed in Santa's existence, it was all so much more exciting then, now, we're more excited about the food and films. I Didn't take a lot of photo's on Tuesday as I was too excited to eat all the roasted potatoes in sight and catch the Doctor Who Christmas special to even remember the existence of my cellular device, but these will do, my 'not-very-exciting-but-good-enough Christmas/Eve/Boxing Day snaps' :)
Tree Decor / Buddy the Elf / Santa Claus himself / Little Sister / Presents / Nail Vanish Gift, sparkly hehe / Christmas Eve, how many drinks did the restaurant think I needed? / lovely lippy / Santa's Little Helper
Christmas : Done,
Bring on New Year, the day where there are no alcohol limits or rules; believe me, when I went to Southbank for the firework displays (always a bad idea) even the police were completely (as we say in the UK) wankered, so yeah, anything is acceptable on New Year .. apparently.

Falalalalaa lala la laaa

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go... my neighbours have actually gone all out this year, there's a brightly lit reindeer (not a real one of course) chilling with Santa on their front lawn which has been buried in lights, quite pretty but...  I'd hate to see their electricity bill.
In the spirit of things, I've decided to do the Christmas Tag. I Initially wanted to film this with my friend, whilst we rock hideous knitted Christmas jumpers and Santa hats, as I thought it'd be nice to do a video, a nice change, but when we got prepared on doing so, we found out my camera had malfunctioned and been meddled with, in other words, it's broken, oh dear. Oh, side note.. I'd like to apologise for my lacking in posts and how not exciting they are at the moment, they shall get better within the New Year, I've just been incredibly busy recently to do the posts I've been planning on doing, but yes, here goes :)

What's Your Favourite Holiday Movies?
Oh there's too many, Elf, Home Alone 1 and 2, A Christmas Carol, I do love me an old fashioned film or 2, Love Actually, there's many more

What Are Your Favourite Christmas Colours?
Red, the red lippy always comes out to play around this time of year and glitter, that's not a colour but I love sparkly things around this time of year

Do You Like To Stay in Your PJs Or Dress Up For Christmas?
Dress up, I just like having the excuse on doing so, even if we're not doing anything that big during the day, and everyone is lounging around in their jammies, I will be the one troddoling around in a floor length gown.

Do You Open Your Presents Christmas Eve Or Christmas Morning?  Christmas morning

Have You Ever Built a Ginger Bread House?
No, but I really want to, however, I'm not a fan of Gingerbread, so that might be a slight issue

What Do You Like To Do On Your Christmas Break?
Drink a lot of Hot Chocolate, shopping, parties, It's that time of the year when everyone is home from uni/school so we all just hang out and catch up, but when reaching a certain age, New Years becomes the most exciting time in December

Favorite Christmas Meal Or Treat?
ROASTED POTATOES and parsnips! I'm making Christmas dinner this year ... my thoughts go out to my family who has to eat the food (not the greatest cook)

Have you ever had a white Christmas?
I have actually, when I went over to Germany for Christmas with the Grandparents a few years back. Christmas is so beautiful over there. I remember when I went to a German Market and got one of those gingerbread heart things with words written on them (forgot the name) and I tried to eat one, only to find out this one was made of sand, not gingerbread... it wasn't nice.

Where do you usually spend your Holidays?

Favourite Christmas Song?
This bad boy and the whole Michael Buble Album, Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle all the wa-ay. Don't know about you, but I really don't like the Mariah Carey Christmas song... (Scrooge)

Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
It's fake this year, due to my little sister, she's already pulling and breaking the decorating from the tree, imagine having a real one?

What would be your dream place to visit for the Holiday Season?
New York, in all the films it looks lovely there around this time of year

What made you realise the truth about Santa?
What do you mean the truth about Santa?

Merry Christmas !

Smell Me

Miss Dior/Valentina/Daisy/Jimmy Choo/Naughty Alice
If you haven't noticed already, clearly you won't make a good Sherlock Holmes, I am a massive fan of things that smell amazing ...  or people .. yes, I am that freak that will sniff a great smelling stranger in front of her in a line at Tesco, with no shame...okay maybe a little bit of shame, but don't tell me you won't try to vigorously breath a good smelling strangers scent in that little moment you share together before they toddle off to live their lives, thought so ;) ... But yes, whilst finally getting round to tidying and organizing my room today, I decided to procrastinate a little (meaning I have found a reason to tidy another day hehe) and write a lovely blog on my current perfume collection and I thought this would be a fair review as if you squint and see, most of the smelly goodness are nearly done for *tear tear* meaning I've obviously been enjoying my little scents, a little too much sometimes. RIP Jimmy Choo :(
I think I go a tad mental when it comes to applying perfumes, this could be because I went to an all girl secondary school, and if you too went to an all girl school, you'll probably understand that smelling good was the key to avoid any bitching torture throughout the 5 ...err glorious years of an all girl secondary school, as well as shaving and avoiding a conversation about a little date you had with a guy from the neighbouring all boys school with anyone other than your own little group of friends otherwise you were automatically considered a Sl.. oh us girls, anyway, my group of girlies were pretty much obsessed with finding new great smelling stuffs, starting from body sprays and mists in year 7, Superdrug's own brand and So....? Kiss me/Sinful being a clear winner here; then along came year 10 and we were big girls now, no more training bras, hello boys and bye bye body sprays and hello Vera Wang Princess (which would of been included in this post, but it's at mothers, I might do my own little blog on my love for Vera Wang later on though, I have an unhealthy obsession) Anyhow, let's get cracking!

Miss Dior : Such a beautiful, sexy feminine fragrance. It lasts long on the body, which I hoped for due to the alarming price tag, and has got me a few compliments from people on a night out, which is always an added self-esteem boost. I tend to only wear this on special occasions though, as I think the scent is too elegantly rich for an everyday scent, that and I don't want to finish it so quickly. I think the bottle is cute and sophisticated looking too. If you're into sweet, feminine, flowery fragrances, I'll highly recommend it, it's not for everyone though so go to your local perfumey store and give it a bit of a wiff.

Valentino Valentina : Ahhhh, absolutely in love with this perfume. I received it as a gift on my birthday last year, and at first I was spraying it on myself like crazy, and when I noticed the perfume being half way down the bottle I had to regain some self control. It's so beautiful and feminine and soft enough to wear everyday, not over powering at all. The floral scents give it that sexy edge. It's very long lasting and so girly, also look at the bottle, beauty!

Marc Jacobs Daisy : The bottle is just so cute. The perfume is summery and confident. It's not too strong but again not too light, it's very long lasting and just so beautiful for night time. It has a fresh florally scent, that burst with femininity and fun but ravels with sexiness. Definitely my favourite summer time night time scent.

Jimmy Choo : I got this as a Christmas present last year, and to begin with, I was really unsure as to whether I liked it or not, this could of been because, I just got a little too used to my little Valentina. However, after using it a few times, it didn't take long for me to get addicted. Like the Valentina, it is very soft and can be worn everyday  It lasts ages on the clothes and body and the bottle is an absolute delight to have around in me little bedroom. The fragrance is girlie and sweet but very sophisticated and ridiculously sexy. The smell differs from other perfumes I've tried and tested as I normally go for the all girly scents, but with this, I feel like a lady.

Vivienne Westwood Naughty Alice : This is just an incredibly sexy fragrance, oh my. It's more of a powdery, musky scent but it's fun and flirtatious, not too sophisticated or serious and will just make you feel so girly and lovely. It does remind me of baby powder though, but that's not an issue as I do like the smell of baby powder quite a bit is that weird?  The scent is long lasting and I tend to wear it as an everyday perfume. However, I did get a tad bored of it, I've had it for a year and a half or so now, The reason being, the lovely Diesel perfume came into the picture, but it has been re-discovered and I have taken upon myself to spritz a little on myself right now, I can honestly say I am truly enjoying sniffing myself whilst writing this blog.

Chloe/Flight of Fancy/Diesel
Chloe ChloĆ© : The newest to the family, I got this in July and I'm using it cautiously. This is such a beautiful perfume, not overpowering, It's light, not too sweet, It's a subtle feminine scent, great for daytime perfume or a date night. I am in love with it and have been wearing it quite a lot when it comes to special night outs. Very long lasting and such a romantic scent. This is what I believe Juliette (Romeo and Juliette) probably smelt like, subtle roses bursting with innocent femininity.

Anna Sui Flight of Fancy : As you can see, I only have a little bit left as I used this pretty much daily over the course of summer, but anyway, it's not an expensive perfume, therefore easy to replace. I got this in the summer, and me being more of a floral, feminine scent kinda gal and not really liking the whole fruity scents, I was surprised I liked this scent, It was quite sweet and fruity but with floral hints, I found it perfect for the Summer. It's fun and a happy scent, It smells fresh and clean, This is what I'd imagine unicorns smelling like, the only issue I have with it, is it doesn't last very long, after 30 minutes, I can no longer notice it, so I do what  I believe is the reason it's gone so quickly, spray some more.

Diesel Fuel for life: And last but not least, my lovely Diesel, this is my second purchase and it's nearly gone. I've been using this scent for a while now and  I always find myself coming back to it. It's not expensive, at a reasonable price compared to some *cough DIOR cough*. It's a very recognisable scent and lasts for absolutely ages. It's a innocent yet sensual, sexy smell, very attractive but I can't really describe it. It's not floral or fruity, powdery, yes, but I dunno, either way, it's a beautiful perfume and is my favourite to run back to. It can be used both daytime and evening, It's not overpowering, but you know it's there and when wearing it, prepare for the compliment galore.

I am terribly bad at describing scents and perfumes, so I hope I got the point across (that I thoroughly enjoy spraying myself with these beauties)

Printed Trousers

one / two / three
One / Two /Three
One / Two / Three
They are all absolutely beautiful, ASOS is a clear winner for me though, they had so much more to choose from aswell, it was rather hard limiting myself. I would love to get my hands on a pair of patterned cigarette trousers, but I don't feel brave enough just yet, seen as I live in leggings, and i'm tiny, what if they end up not looking right? hahaa
Which ones are your favourite?

Blazin' Blazers

TopshopHerringbone BlazerMosaic Blazer
Ahh I just love blazers....Look at them I want them all. If only magic was real and by the snap of my fingers I had all of these in my wardrobe...if only...
The Herringbone one is definitely my favourite, I find River Island do amazing blazers, compared to many other stores. Which one is your favourite?

It's All About The Back-age

Kimchi Blue Emma Dress £65.00

So I was browsing through the Urban Outfitters website earlier and found some bloody beautiful dresses! It's all about the Back-age now ladies, and I hope you too will agree on how pretty the back detailing are on these dresses. Only concern, It's a tad chilly right now, why didn't they think of these dress ideas in the summer?

The dress above is my favourite one. I love the mesh detailing and the buttons going down the back of the dress as well as the baroque style detailing along the shoulders and neckline. It's such a delicate dress, and an edgier design to the typical Little Black Dress.

Silence + Noise Party In The Back Dress £125.00

The model looks so serious.... Anyway, this is another one I drooled over whilst on my browsing mission. I absolutely love Love LOVE the gold Grecian-style embellishment and the.... hole, I just find it quite unusual and edgy. When looking at it from the front, it's like hey, I'm sophisticated, then you turn around and it's like BAM.. bitch came here to Paardy!! And as the zip detail goes all the way down, I guess it's easy to take off and to put on, well done UO, however, not liking that price tag...heeeeesh.

Vaudeville & Burlesque Navy Lace Top Dress £65.00

This dress is just so cute! I love the lace detailing and how delicate the dress looks, but again, the black lace roughs it up a bit. The dress is so feminine *sigh*

Times like these is when I wish I had a job...

Things That Smell Amazing...

Lee Stafford's Poker Straight hair :  With green tea extract heat protective agent for peace of mind when using hot straightening irons.

Before I begin, Let me just preach on how incredible the smell of this product is. Woah (smelling it now) it's absolutely beautiful. Not only is the smell amazing, but after spraying onto the barnet, your hair feels so smooth and sleek and shiny (and smells amazing). I bought the travel size, seen as boots were having a 3 for 2 thing going on and I didn't want to splurge out £5.99 in case I didn't like it. Also, as I said before, I destroyed my hair after a failed DIY ombre action and I had days where I wanted my hair to be straight, but was rather worried, what if it all fries off, not a good look, but I'm happy because this is a very good heat protectant, definitely going to repurchase a full sized one.

TONI & GUY Casual Sea Salt Texturising Spray : Creates texture and body
with light to medium hold. Suitable for all hair types and perfect for achieving a lived in, beach look. Spritz evenly root to tip, on towel-dried or dry hair and work through to create tousled waves and natural movement.

I love this! It smells amazing (here she goes about the smell of things again) and does what it says a win win. I tried a number or texturising sprays - VO5 and that other one that I keep forgetting the name of - and they all felt sticky, and sometimes hardens your hair and leaves it feeling crispy, which I hate, but this just makes the hair look natural, we don't get beaches here in England, well we do, but unless you want to travel to Cornwall, the water here doesn't look very appealing and It's rarely sunny or hot to go to the beach in the first place :') But yes, I don't like the price tag that comes with the full size of this product though, £7, it's a bit pricey for what it is, but It is a very good product, hmmm...

Soap and Glory Mist you Madely [hahaha so punny] : A flirty floral fragrant body spray

I enjoyed the title a bit too much before making my purchase, I have no idea why,  Buuut, (you guessed it) THIS SMELLS AWESOMES! I bought 3 more, because I just love spraying myself with it and it's only £3.50 and there's a 3 for 2 offer happening in Boots (take a breath) I just had to take the chance! My friend has the box set of these and you get 3 other scents, that are not sold individually, but I wasn't very fond of the other smells, so I'll just stick to this one hehe. I feel like a lady after I spray this, it smells so feminine and beautiful ahhh Soap and Glory, you never fail to please me.

Aya's Picks : Pull and Bear

Now I don't know about you, but I feel as though Pull and Bear is a bit underrated, their clothes are of really good quality and so darn tootin! Anyway, I was browsing through their site and came across some attire that really caught my eye and yes I know, I went a tad knitwear cray cray but hey it's winter, I'm allowed ;)

I also found some shoes that I fell in Love with. My shoe obsession is almost as bad as my obsession with the lovely boys we all refer to as Ben and Jerry.

Aya Loves' : Wishlist

Dress / Scarf / Shoes / Velvet Shorts / Snazzy Hot Pants
Before I say anything..let us just admire the beauty of that dress and those shoes (currently annoying my family with the web pages of these, seen as they'd make a perfect birthday present hehe) *sigh*
I also tried on the Velvet shorts from Topshop...I bloody lov'em!!!! only problem, they are a little bit big, so go a size down, but other than that, they are perfect. Also, they have this really cute delicate gold button on the front, so cute!
Also, don't you just love the look of those embellished hot pants from Miss Selfridge? (also, Ah damn you typo, Photoshop need to start automatically checking spellings, but I'm sure you all know I meant 'Selfridge') They are perfect for a night out, they are a little bit short though, I noticed this once I tried them on hehe, Oh and they're also available in Petite, yay!

Disco Pants : Dupes

As many of you know, Disco pants are so in right now and if you've been living under a rock for the past year and don't know what they are, they're shiney high waisted legging trousers type garment that can be worn in so many different ways, great right!
Now if you're a student or can't see yourself spending £74 on a pair (used to be £70, the cheek AA!) fear not, really good duplicates are now available, pretty much everywhere for £30 or less.

The ark clothing ones looks almost identical  I love the navy colour. And the RI ones are not as shiny  but I've tried on the tube pants and loved them, they are really body hugging though, be warned. Now for the Topshop ones, they were perfect, however, they do tend to come out a little bit bigger, so go a size down, other than that, the Topshop ones are your best bet, they're so comfortable  and flexible.

No you're not seeing things, Matalan are sporting the Disco Pants for just 12 pounds, and they're in the teen/kids section which ever one you like to call it, yes I did just say kids/teen section, but before you light your torches and mentally WTF me, the ages for the teen section goes up to 16, which is equivalent to an size 10, see, I just saved you some dosh ;)

I think disco pants are a great trend and I can't wait to get my own, I left subtle hints for my family to see that I want them for my birthday and when I say subtle, I mean an A4 paper picture print out of them all over the fridge hehehe.
I hope you enjoyed this post

The Single Girls To Do List : Review

Now I'm pretty sure that a some of you have experienced that horrible feeling of heartbreak, having to rely on Ben and Jerry's for comfort, sobbing in front of the mirror eating a massive slice of chocolate fudge cake (or this might just be me) having the urge to change your appearance, flicking through old photos of them 'happy days', aggressively Facebook/Twitter stalking...not that I did this, of course, loss of appetite, gain in appetite,  crying , feeling better then all a sudden your dad decides to buy you the cereals that he (the now ex) used to eat every morning and the tears start again, the tears will just keep making an appearance for a few days or more depending how bad the situation is... I never realised how good cats are at absorbing tears, until now. But when there's heartbreak, there's those who you love the most around you to help you get through it, These amazing people you ask? Your Best Buds of course!!...and family....or cats... (awks)

I purchased this book a week after me and the ex broke up and because it was a bit premature, I did have a little sob whilst reading, only for the first few pages though, I wasn't that much of an emotional wreck, gawsh gawys! This might of been because within the first pages, you have to follow through a break up and you just had yourself a break up.... memories can be a massive pain in the bottom sometimes. Reading on and I was really able to relate to the character, maybe it was because I was going through what she just went through either way, this book gave me some closure.

The Single Girls To Do List is absolutely hilaar! I absolutely loved all the main characters but Matthew has to be my favourite of them all, he somehow reminds me of one of my friends, bless him, I can't express how much I enjoyed this book, I finished it within a two days (it's not the longest of books) and I was upset when it ended as I just wanted my reading journey to begin all over again. I've never heard of Lindsey Kelk before, but after reading this book, I went out and purchased myself a few cheeky books from her I Heart series hehehehe.

As the Book is called the Single Girls To Do List, me and a buddy decided to conjure up my own little to do list as I thought, it was a bloody good idea! So this is my list:

I wrote this list at the end of September and can proudly say that the majority of the things on this list are COMPLETE *insert victory dance* Doing the list got my mind off the situation and got me busy and as I tend to be a rather competitive individual (I had to complete my new missions within a month) I was on it like a car bonnet (excuse the lame expression, it felt necessary). However, exercise is still in progress .... don't get me wrong, I tried jogging, but nearly collapsed to my death after 5 seconds of it.... and it's cold...

Overall I give the book a 5/5 because it was just brilliant, well written and entertaining, hats off to Lindsey Kelk! If you're into Chick Lit I guarantee you too will enjoy the book, go have a read.

(and because I adore the ombre trend, of course) only, the tips of my hair didn't come out blonde...they came out yellowy-orange, so I had to dye it brown (twice) praying it won't turn green, it's now a very light honey brown which is nice and the tips of my hair are now in horrendous condition...FML.

To New Beginnings....

Oh HEY guys!
It has been quite a while since I last blogged, I had myself quite a frustrating and stressful few months which just made me feel like neglecting my blog, I lost my mojo as they say, but I am back and ready to write!

You might notice a few changes...I have me a new name, wo-oah! 'The Diary Of a Petite Girl', Seen as I'm a 5 foot girl (pathetic) - could push myself for 5"1 or 4 depending on the shoes I wear *singger snigger* living in Laaandan, I thought I might reach out to my fellow littlens as shopping and finding something to wear can be a big pain in the buttocks sometimes, especially when you have a size 4-6 frame as well as having to rely on petite sections and needles and threads. Sucks finding a really cute coat and when you wear it "WOAH, Aya is getting eaten by a coat guys" not fun! ...or meeting a really tall guy and you practically look like a 12 year old child next to them, amusing .. yes... but again not fun. Anyhow enough about my height, being short isn't all that bad, I've lived with it all my life and I know how some of you ladies are feeling but I can't help being at envy with you tall ladies either. The layout and design etc etc etc etc etc ETC!!! is also changing, I apologise for all these changes I'm forcing upon you guys, but you'll live ;)

Anyhooow, the last time I blogged, I was stuck, I had no idea what I wanted to do in life, I cancelled my university application - which at first I thought was stupid of me after going to some of my friends freshers and invading their uni lives (don't judge, I'm unemployed, single and bored right now) - I got my Alevel's, finished college and before I knew it, everyone close to me started to leave, heading off to university, starting a new chapter in their lives, far away from London only seeing them every other weekend and I was left, trying to figure things out, trying to 'find myself' as someone called it, but I'm happy as a few weeks ago, I figured it out, I found out what my real passion is and found the perfect course I want to do in university. I wasn't this excited about university like I am now, last year which is a gooden! Now I'm just sitting back, awaiting my ex-tutor to send me my reference so I can send my application off and hope I get into the university of my choice, and if Kids in Glass houses played for their freshers this year, I wonder what greatness are playing next year...I HAVE BIG EXPECTATIONS GUYS! Ooooh! what if they get the Kooks to play or Bastille or Modestep or this cute little boyband called 'The Vamps' that I found, I don't care if they're younger than me, I WANT THEM ALL, such gorgeous boys, don't worry, they are 17-18 so my thoughts of them are not a cause of concern.
I'm glad I didn't just go to university doing 'Fashion Journalism' though, I mean, eventhough I am interested in Fashion Journalism, I'd love to be able to do more than just journalism, I don't want to limit myself.

A Gap Year feels rather good though, as it's giving me a break from education, I mean I have been in the cycle of school since I was 5, also, It got me to learn about myself more and discover new things that I like and enjoy, I enjoy cooking and baking now, Who ever saw that coming! Now I'm just in search of a job, bloody ridiculous as well, most employers exclaim that I don't have enough experience, I'm sorry, how am I to gain any experience if you don't bloody employ me, one thing that's irritating with employers now a days!

Anywaaaay, I don't know what to write anymore, I'm out of words guys, speechless, this is like the time when a guy I met one drunken night (when I crashed a freshers party, hardcore!), he somehow out witted me and left me speechless for a while, he also stole my tie..... don't think I didn't see you wearing that tie on you Facebook profile picture the other day, you bastard.... such a good tie, it wasn't even mine.... and on that note...

ps. apologies for the long, word bombarded post, It's unusual for me, but I thought It was time I blogged after a while, but I have blog posts planned and now I have more time in my hands and since I am not liking the ridiculous prices tfl are making me pay for travel, I'll stay home until someone SOMEONE (PLEASE) employs me,  I can do better blog posts! YAY!
